Later on I finished one of her hand-made birthday gifts from me, a spybag (which hopefully will keep her entertained at Church). Again, instead of thinking her mom who hasn't sown anything in 50 years is cool, she started crying because she couldn't get the items in the bag out of the bag.
But, we had a few fun moments during the day as well. Since the weather was perfect, I decided to take Sophia on a nice long bike ride, which we both enjoyed. She got to play a little with some of her friends, she got to jump off of our rocking chair for a while, we read books, played, sang songs, danced, and she got calls from her uncle Steffen and her grandma and grandpa. She totally loved it when they all sang Happy Birthday to her. And lastly, Papa managed to jet home for 15 minutes before dinner, so he was actually able to be there for Sophia to open her birthday presents.
She got a beautiful hat, wooden beads, and chocolate from her aunt and uncle in Germany, and we gave her a coloring books with stickers. The jacket we just threw in for the heck of it (a hand me down from her cousins). And of course, she got her awesome balancing bike, that I totally forgot to pull out in the haste of the moment. Sophia really loved all her presents, but I think the beads were her favorite. So...
