Ghost

Another reason why I think people shouldn't let their kids 'cry it out' would be the fact that they can find out sooner that their poor little one is barfing all over the place. Today I figured I should try one more time to feed Sophia egg yolk. I had tried some around 6 months, but after her third or fourth time, while we were in Germany, she got super sick and was vomiting none-stop for an hour, followed by some diarrhea. It totally freaked me out, because she was so little and helpless, and when it all was over, she lay in my arms motionless, pale like a ghost. Saddest thing ever. Since then I was too scared to try the egg yolk again thinking that that is what made her sick. Today, I tried. The result? Well, she went to sleep fine. About an hour later, she was crying a bit in her room. I figured, I'd go and check on her. What did I find? Her crib and Sophia covered in barf. It ended up to be a true repeat of last time, except this time she barfed more and got me more, and she managed to have a major blow out when I tried to change her, and got it all on me. It's got to be true love when it doesn't face you for more than a second that you're covered in poop and in vomit because you're so concerned for your child, right?
Anyway, I could have taken pictures, but I figured no one wants to see them. I just hope Sophia recovers soon. Right now she's sleeping. She was so exhausted, she couldn't even keep her head up when she wanted to. I hope I can get some liquids into her soon. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned anyone who lets their kids cry for a long time without AT LEAST checking on them, is...well, I won't go there.

Ahh the joys of Motherhood. It sounds like Sophia may have an egg allergy.

I'm very sure she does, at this point.

I was so relieved when I woke to Sophia clawing my face and laughing. It meant to me that she was better from the vomit/diarrhea, ghostly paleness exhaustion. That was truly a scary moment.

That's one gray hair for my head.
