Air India: Thank you and come again!

So, Henry and I are flying to Germany in June. We're really excited, but the funnest part so far was booking our flight. When I tried to find good deals during the summer the cheapest air line and flight that kept coming up was with Air India. To spare my poor father's bank account (who was paying for our flights) I decided to go with the cheapest, no matter what, even if it was some questionable Indian airline I've never flown with. The flight duration is only 7 hours, it's a direct flight, it conveniently leaves in the evening, it really seems perfect, except that "Air India" seems dodgy to me.

The fun really kicked in when I had to call the airline to confirm that we can use my dad's credit card to book the flights. The lady who I talked to spoke English but with such a thick Indian accent, I just couldn't understand her. After a while I gave up, just said "ok" and "thank you" and had Henry call next. It took him one more call to figure out what we actually had to do, and the whole time we tried to not laugh out loud because we thought this whole Indian thing was so funny.

Now we're looking forward to a nice flight with Indian food, and all Indians aboard. Cool stuff.

Thank you and come again (of course, said like Apu from the Simpsons).

I'm excited for my vegetarian meal I ordered. I talked to my Indian friends about Air India and they told me to be prepared for crowds of Indian people pushing and shoving and arguing. I can't wait. Now we just have to figure out how to get a cheap ride up there.

Are you sure they will not fly via Bangalore?

Where does it fly out from?

I agree, it does sound dodgy. I hope you'll let us know how it is!
