Today

Today was a weird day. Sophia and I both slept till 9am. Then the day just dragged on in a weir fashion. I felt somehow "out of it", not doing much. Sophia watched "Finding Nemo" for almost the whole show. I stepped on the scale and supposedly lost 2lbs. Shouldn't I be gaining at this point? Then Sophia and I cooked up some food in her little kitchen. We went to Walmart for a little outting, but Sophia was just grouchy. I read lots of interesting discussions on various Mormon blogs, and I had a whole slew of thoughts I wanted to write about. But, I'm just feeling weirdly tired. Sophia wouldn't fall asleep for forever for her nap. Then she did nap till almost 5.30pm. Now Henry is giving her a bath, and I'm mad. Mad at Henry's preceptor (supervising doctor) at his current rotation. It's almost like last year is repeating itself. He's working so hard, but the jerk who's in charge of him, doesn't seem to think so. He just got his mid-term review, and it wasn't a very good one. The funny thing about it is that what he got 'criticized' for has little to do with his actual performance as a doctor. They were rather unimportant things such as documenting things in the order that particular doctor wants it documented, or presenting things in the order that doc wants it presented (basically being organized the way this lady is organized) or simply seeing more patients. Well, he's seen as many patients as the other student there, and she had a 4-day head start on him. It's very frustrating for Henry, and it simply makes me mad.

So, it's been a weird day, and now it's ending with high stress levels. I know Henry is completely worried about this rotation, and potentially not passing. Consequently, I stress and worry, too. After all, this has happened before, and it'd be a lot more serious this time around (you can only fail twice). It's just annoying. And unfair. And yet so hard to stand up and do something or say something because all those professors/doctors are in charge still over your future. Say the wrong thing, and you  may just have dug your own grave. We hate it. I hate it. I guess, if you have nothing better to do we're grateful for any prayers on our behalf.

I just wish we'd already be in March. Then I'd have a baby, and hopefully Henry would be done for good with his VA rotation, and all the stress and trauma this is bringing us right now. Urgh...
