Don't you love them? Every new year, we resolve to change, and half of the time we don't. Well, I do want to do better with a couple of things, and having a little girl who depends on me helps me be more motivated. Last year, I resolved to lose 20lbs. I admit I failed that goal miserably and gained instead 25lbs. However, that was all pregnancy weight. Lucky. But, I just now over Christmas I gained like 10lbs because I just could not stop eating chocolates and Christmas cookies. So, now I'm wildly determined to lose those 20lbs I wanted to lose last year, plus some extra 10lbs by the end of the year. The end of the year is my big goal because now that we started a family, No. 2 is already in the planning and I have only so much time to lose weight.
So, here it is for all to read. I weigh 200lbs, and it better be 30lbs less by December. I hope to achieve that by regularly exercising, and eating healthier (no more treats except for Sundays, more fruit, more veggies, less starchy carbs). I'll occasionally report on my progress, and if you are one of my Ohio friends, you better call me on it if you see me pigging out on chocolate, ice-cream, or other not-to0-healthy-appearing treats. If you don't, may my excessive weight spread over to you and bear you down for the years to come. ;)
The other things I want to do better this year are my scripture study, temple attendance, and prayers. Often times Henry leaves without us having a morning family prayer. I really want to change that. I also want us to read our scriptures daily, which has been a really weak point in the last year. With Sophia around, I realize if we don't start doing things right from the beginning it'll only get harder with time passing, and then I'll miss my chance to set a good example for her, and show her which things matter most. I wouldn't want that. So, hopefully I'll do better with this.
Anyway, if you have goals for the new year, feel free to share them here, and every few months I'll post something to help us remember what we wanted to work on and we can discuss our progress (or lack thereof).
Happy New Year.

I'll give you a tip on how to "jump-start" your weight-loss... just come let me spread my germs on you and wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am you will have the best case of stomach flu you've had in awhile. In just 24 hours I've lost 2 Kilos (that's 4.4 lbs.) There has to be an upside to how I'm feeling right now, so I'll take the weight loss since Christmas was a real "blessing" on the scales for me as well. I'll race you to see who can lose the 30 lbs. first!??
Ok, the race is on. I'll pass on the stomach flu though. I got a mild version of it over Christmas, and the bad version when I was 2 months pregnant. I threw up every 30 minutes for 6 hours, and then diarrhea on top of it. It was nasty, and I ended up with an IV for dehydration. I don't know if I lost any weight. I was knocked out with drugs to even think about it. Get well soon. Barfing is no fun.
I'm shooting to lose 20 lbs too! Count me in on the race. But I'll drop out once I am at 20 lbs.
Henry
P.S. One of my little goals is no food after 9pm and no more than one sweet per day (fruit doesn't count).
I met once I reach my 20 lbs lost goal. By then, I should be a round 200 lbs.
Henry
Count me in! I will watch Sophia for you if you want to go to the gym... and I won't bring you treats. (:
