I guess, I was already off to a bad start with one of our ward's Sister Missionaries, when I heard Henry mentioning that he just met the sister missionaries, and he had a French class with one of them, and then heard them go off in French. Not that I would be jealous, because that's REALLY not in my nature at all. I just simply don't like competition. That's all. And any female that may appeal to my husband is competition. It's a stressful life, let me tell you.
Anyway, not only did I develop some sort of immediate dislike, it also turned out as I interacted with her a little bit that she was slightly odd. When I got called as a ward missionary, she basically came skipping over, telling me she wanted to shout "halleluja" for joy. Hmphhh...why would she be so happy when we had never actually talked. Weiiirrddd.
Well, of course, I wouldn't hold on to such feelings and things turned out to be ok. Granted, that one time we had to pick up the sisters for our ward missionary council, Henry and I picked up some very dirty, VERY smelly hitch-hikers on our way over to the missionaries, hoping the stink would linger...but for the most part, all was well.
Then at one of our ward missionary councils, the questionable sister missionary asked that someone of the ward missionaries would call an older lady they were teaching. No one knew her. We asked what it was about, and they said it was just to chitchat. I thought it was a little odd to have a random person call her up, who had never met her, so I started asking some probing questions, trying to see if there was maybe a member who had met her before, and could just cal her up. Eventually, the sister just made one of the guys commit to calling her, and I thought that was even weirder. So, I finally stated that I just thought it was a little odd to have a random guy call someone he doesn't know at all, just to chitchat. The sister snapped, and said that if I don't like it, I don't have to do it. I said, I don't and that's why I didn't volunteer.
I just forgot about the whole incident, when last night at our meeting, the sister mentioned, reported on something the stake president asked the missionaries and ward missionaries to do. Then she added, looking at me, that if you wanted to poopoo the idea to take it up with the Stake president. Wow...now I realize why some girls shouldn't go on a mission. They can't control their cat-fight instinct. Hahahahaha....
I admit, I'm annoyed. I don't know what this sister's problem is. If she wants the members to help, she should maybe consider gaining their trust, and working with them instead of against them, or just popping out snappy comments and strange suggestions. Guilt-tripping, manipulating, and pushing people around is rarely a successful method, and not the way the Savior gained trust and followers. I just don't know if I should pity the sister for being her own obstacle, or if I should just pick a fight. Hahahaha...I'm sooo tempted, except, I DO care about missionary work, and so I don't see that helping. I guess she'll just have to figure it out on her own. Good thing I already know everything and can be an awesome missionary on my own. Good thing also that I'm soooo humble. ;) (just kidding on the last two, of course).
